    Art & Soul

    Art & Soul encourages self-discovery through creativity with people in need through a program of art and crafts at Central UMC.  Motown teams help participants in their creations and spend time getting to know our homeless brothers and sisters in Detroit.  Art & Soul is sponsored by First UMC: Birmingham.

    Capuchin Soup Kitchen

    The Capuchin Soup Kitchen has a number of feeding and clothing centers around Detroit.  Along with their Earthworks garden, they have been critical partners in serving the homeless and those in most need in the city.  Motown Mission teams help serve food, and take time out to visit with Capuchin kitchen guests.

    Central Woodward Christian Church

    Central Woodward Christian Church is a church with historic connections to the North End neighborhood of Detroit, near where Motown Mission teams stay during their weeks of service.  Now, CWCC is partnering with Motown Mission to bring members of their church and participants from across the Disciples of Christ connection to serve alongside the people of Detroit.

    Earthworks

    Earthworks garden is a program of the Capuhin Soup Kitchen providing fresh locally grown produce, and local jobs for the guests of that program.  Motown Mission teams have the opportunity to tend gardens that feed those most in need in Detroit.

    Gleaners Food Bank

    Gleaners provides hunger-busting services to Detroit residents.  Motown Mission teams pack lunches and grocery boxes, make sandwiches, and work with local gardens to support this effort to keep Detroiters fed.

    Greening of Detroit

    The Greening of Detroit has been beautifying the Motor City for years.  Motown Mission teams have helped Greening plant trees, tend gardens, and in general work at transforming a place bound by concrete and asphalt into a place that provides sustainance, great smells, shade, and all the wonderful blessings of nature - right in our D-town backyards.

    Joy-Southfield Community Development Corporation

    The J-SCDC Housing Program provides residents of the Cody-Rouge section of Detroit an affordable means to repair, renovate, and maintain their homes and surrounding neighborhoods.  Motown Mission teams partner with J-SCDC and the home owners to provide a volunteer work force for this repair work.

    Metropolitan United Methodist Church

    Metropolitan UMC has been the host church for Motown Mission teams ever since our inaugural year in 2005 (and hosted similar programs in the early 2000s too).  This historic and beautiful church in the New Center area of Detroit boasts great facilities, friendly congregation, and more.  We thank Metro for their hospitality and encourage you to visit them soon!

    N.O.A.H. Project

    With the bag lunch and Art&Soul programs, NOAH has welcomed Motown Mission teams for a number of years.  Set in downtown Detroit at Central United Methodist Church this program feeds homeless neighbors and provides creative outlets for them.  Plus, it gives Motown teams an excuse to stay up late making 400 sandwiches the night before they serve!

    Neighbors Building Brightmoor

    With gardening, deconstruction, creative building, and other projects Neighbors Building Brightmoor provides community centered work projects for Motown Mission teams.  Participants are regularly treated to not just rewarding work with residents, but also great background on the spirit of Brightmoor.

    Northwest Detroit Neighborhood Development

    NDND works to secure affordable housing and revived blocks in the Brightmoor neighborhood in NW Detroit.  From greenways to infill housing, NDND works with neighbors to support the people of Brightmoor.

    Northwestern Christian Church

    Projects in the Wyoming and Evergreen neighborhoods center around the community efforts of Northwestern Christian Church. In partnership with Ripplig Hope, this faith community is giving neighbors hope and offering the love of Christ.

    Rippling Hope

    Rippling Hope is a new partner in Detroit, opening another in their many mission destinations across the USA.  Providing work projects alonside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregations like Northwestern and Bethany Christian, Rippling Hope has oponed up new neighborhoods for Motown Mission teams to partner with.

    United Methodist Union of Greater Detroit

    The United Methodist Union of Greater Detroit remains a strong partner with Motown Mission even after supporting YLI (Motown Mission's parent organization) with significant grant funding during previous years.  The "Union" is known for it's work enabling churches and ministries to be in mission for the people of Detroit.

    Youth Service Fund

    The Youth Service Fund of the United Methodist Church has supported Motown Mission Experience with grants and by telling the story of Motown Mission during our "bootstrap years."  Many thanks to the churches across the UMC who regularly raise funds for YSF and who share some of the credit for making Motown happen!

    Youthworker Movement

    The Youthworker Movement partners with various organizations in and around the UMC to support adults who lead youth in discipleship and missions.  Members of the Youthworker Movement get a discount on their Motown Mission registrations.
